ShareAs usual most Depeche Mode interviews are all but interesting, with interviewers asking the most dull or commonly known questions (to which we all know the answers already anyhow). But luckily there’s still the indie press that often does a good job when interviewing bands. Side-Line magazine for example brings us a big interview that holds several things that you would never have known via other interviews. Read the full Depeche Mode interview.
It’s not the first time that Side-Line has shown to know how to get things done properly. With this Alan Wilder interview and this 2nd Alan Wilder interview (later used by Alan Wilder to be turned into an open letter) they even caused lots of mayhem at the Mute / Emi offices.
ShareLast night the Belgian label Alfa Matrix released the first 2 DJ only remixes for two tracks taken from the Depeche Mode tribute “Alfa Matrix re:covered - a tribute to Depeche Mode“. The two tracks concerned are:
Robert Vadney is a wellknown remixer for Paul Oakenfold and did a nice job on “People are people”. The two remixes are part of DJ EP which comes for free for every online order of the “Alfa Matrix re:covered - a tribute to Depeche Mode” 2CD. You can order your copy right here.
ShareIn the right lower corner of the backside of the CD tray of the regular CD format, there’s a logo that says “Songs in the key of space”. When we contacted Mute about this, they did not want to comment… Does someone has an idea what it actually means ? Below is the backside of the CD tray and the logo itself in detail.
Some fans say it’s linked to lyrics, but adding a special logo just for that does not make any sense, especially not when it’s that ugly :).

Although the official releasedate for the new Depeche Mode album “Sounds from the universe” is set for April 21st, several shops in Australia have started selling the physical formats including the much wanted boxset. The early sales tactic is nothing else but a way to get the income for the record shops up at any ‘cost’ in these difficult times for the music industry.
The rest of the world will start selling the physical copies on Friday the latest. For those that are only interested in the 1CD version, better check out CD WOW! who has the cd for sale for 7.99 UK£, that is 8 Euro, shipped for free worldwide.
ShareAs you may know already Depeche Mode songwriter Martin Lee Gore has delivered backing vocals for the brand new Nitzer Ebb track “Once you see”. The album where the track is to be featured on is now delayed. A newspost that is to appear online at Side-Line magazine tomorrow reads:
While the band completed the new release for quite some time, including artwork, the release has been postponed due to what the band calls “the financial situation” which “has slowed things down in many regards”. If the band doesn’t find a satisfactory [financial] solution with a label partner they’ll self-release the material on their own label, “but again, that takes time, (and money), to set up properly” the band says.
And below is the track “Once You Say” featuring Martin Lee Gore from Depeche Mode.
